What should I talk about? So you've approached that certain some one who caught your eye with a pick up line and now you're wondering what to say next. Almost any topic is suitable for conversation but there are some that should almost always be avoided. You want to talk about something that's interesting but not too controversial. You're trying to spark a new relationship so don't bring up any topics that could cause a divide between the two of you. Instead, draw on your commonalties and similarities for inspiration. The main topics to avoid are politics and religion. These will undoubtedly lead your new relationship on to the wrong path. People hold their faith and political alignment close to heart and are easily offended when others disagree, question, or joke about something that they hold so dearly. Don't talk about the weather! That's the most bland, boring and played out topic there is. Look around you, observe the environment surrounding you, and find something to comment on. Maybe the person you're talking to has an interesting piece of clothing you can ask about. Do some people watching and talk about the people around you. Just don't talk about the weather! You also don't want to sit there spitting out one pick up line after the other! One pick up line per interaction is more than enough. Talk about music and movies. Did you hear a cool new song? See an interesting new movie? Celebrity gossip is always fun too! What were Britney Spears' or Paris Hilton's latest exploits on TV? Most importantly, talk about your hobbies and interests so you can discover what you have in common. Find things you both have a passion for and then you'll have reasons to talk to, and see, each other again.
